This was my first time at Ika Sushi, and it was such a great experience. We stopped in for a late lunch, so it wasn’t very busy, and we were seated right away. The space itself is really cute and the staff was super friendly, which set the tone for a relaxed meal. We ordered a little bit of everything: the Brussels sprouts, a salmon avocado roll, a blue crab avocado roll, an albacore hand roll, and something called the Popeye roll. The Brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly, with a nice char and a white miso sauce that was so good we ended up dipping other rolls in it. The salmon roll was tightly rolled with a generous amount of fish, and I really appreciated how well the rice held together even when dipping it in soy sauce and wasabi—no crumbling, which is a win. The blue crab avocado roll was really lovely, and you could definitely taste the fresh blue crab. The albacore hand roll was beautifully done and probably one of the best I’ve had in the city—simple but really high quality. But the standout for me was the Popeye roll. I never would have thought to put spinach in a sushi roll, but it worked so well. The flavor was unique, and again, that miso sauce took it to another level. One small but thoughtful detail that I loved: after we finished eating, they brought out a little plate of orange slices. It was a nice refreshing way to end the meal and kind of cleanse the palate—simple, but it added a really nice touch to the whole experience. We just had soft drinks with the meal, but everything was excellent. Quick, easy, and delicious. Perfect timing going right after lunch because we got in with no wait, and everyone working there was kind and attentive. Highly recommend and already looking forward to going back.

An absolutely incredible experience! Came in around dinner time and luckily it wasn't busy. We were greeted and seated immediately. The restaurant decor is quite nice, cozy and comfortable. The service was incredible. The waitstaff was very friendly and helpful. The sushi is where Ika really shines! Every roll was amazing. Presentation and flavor profiles were perfect. They also use high-quality fish, which can be hard to find in Utah. Do yourself a favor and try this place out!

I am new to Salt Lake and immediately went on the hunt for authentic sushi. This place is by far the closest I’ve experienced to Michelin star sushi around the world. TG is the owner and a phenomenal person who did most of his training in LA. I judge sushi by the quality of the nigiri pieces and they are the absolute best I’ve had since I’ve moved here.
After visiting many sushi places, actually fishing and eating my own fresh catch I can say that this sushi place is awesome. I'm not from town just crossing on our way back from Yellowstone I found this place through Google and chose from the best rated places. Those of us who like to rate places didn't disappoint. You can smell, see and taste the dedication on each of these inspired dishes. Chef, my hat is off, congrats! I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you choose to eat at Ika Sushi. If I get to be back at salt Lake city I'll definitely stop by again.
This was one of the better sushi places we have been to in the SLC valley. View the building from the outside it’s just another strip mall restaurant with a low key sign…. Pass the place up and you will be disappointed. Once inside you soon forget you are in a strip mall, the atmosphere was relaxing. The food was very good and fresh. The service was attentive but not over bearing. Really enjoyed everything. Check this place out you shouldn’t be disappointed.
I loved ika, it's sushi is amazing and the ramen was smothering. I came here at least like 5 different times for the ramen. My only complaint is the service, they were just staring at their phone, it's all good though. I would definitelyy come again
